I promise.

Because I was still healing,

I hadn’t learnt how to love myself yet,

No matter how much I wanted you,

I couldn’t love you.

I wanted you.

I can promise you that.

I fell further from myself,

Trying to fall for you.

Each step I took closer was another step too far.

I promise,

I tried to love you.
