My bones, dust.
My heart, rust.
These are the truths that I’ll choose to trust.
I’m fragile, broken.
I’m voiceless, unspoken.
I have nothing to give so take this as my token.
I keep heaving my chest,
But there’s nothing left.
No fight, Or convection,
No Devine resurrection.
I’m just a reflection,
A smudged imperfection.
An impending dissection.
Waiting for burial in my 6 by 2.
The only thing left to show I’m not dead,
Is the continuous hum that fills up my head.
“Not worthy, not worthy, not worthy…”
Is all that it said,
by the continuous hum that fills up my head.
My head,
My head,
My head filled with voices.
And the voices, they speak.
And although most are bleak,
there’s one that is weak,
but boy does it speak?
and I know if I hear it,
the fight is not over.
I’ll take arms with my thoughts
and let that one take over.
Conquer.
My heart may be rusted,
But it could creak into gear.
It must creak into gear.
It will creak into gear.
Until then it will never be over.

Writing prompt: All my bones are dust and my heart is filled with rust. Reddit user: TheGeorge.
I find browsing the internet for writing prompts is a great way to help writer’s block! I have a whole load of one liners and screenshots saved for a foggy day! (Foggy not rainy because I feel like writer’s block is more of a foggy feeling!)

oddly random occurrence, i stumbled upon your comment under the @weratedogs post on twitter. i thought it was delightfully funny. i then saw you had a wordpress and to be quite honest i don’t typically check anyone’s and for some reason i did yours. to get to my point, the first post i saw was “dusted, rusted”. i just want to say i thought it was brilliant and it resonated with me. perfectly described how i’ve gone over things in my head to myself over the last 5 years. awesome stuff, thank you!

Thank you! I neglect this space more than I should and your notification reminded me that I should probably visit it again soon so thank you for the push. Someone on reddit uploaded a video on youtube of Dusted, rusted and their voice does it much more justice than my own so I’d recommend a listen!
